Every year, only this year a little earlier, Shoplupe calls for participation in the Shop Usability Award. Various online shops based on JTL-Shop have already taken home awards in previous years – Gartentraum.de in 2017, for example. And as in previous years, we would like to support chch again in 2018. We explain below what this support looks like in concrete terms.
The award - how user-friendly is your store?
Shoplupe is now organizing the Shop Usability Award for the eleventh time. The award primarily recognizes online stores that excel in terms of user-friendliness and shopping experience. The focus is on general attractiveness and service quality. Your store must therefore score points in criteria such as speed, efficiency, design, comprehensibility and variety. Of course, this cannot be done without putting it through its paces – test orders are placed to find out whether your website delivers what it promises.
How does participation work?
The categories
You have the opportunity to log in in one of a total of 12 industry categories (B2B; Food & Drink; Electronics; Software & Mobile; Fashion and many more), multiple applications are not possible.
There are also 6 special categories that have changed again compared to 2017. New categories include “Best Discounter” and “Best B2B Manufacturer”, while “Most Innovative Shop”, “Social Projects”, “Small Business” and “Best Brand Shop” are familiar.
Another change for 2018 is that stores from Austria and Switzerland are also eligible to take part this year. They will compete in their own category, the best store in their respective country.
This year, the award also features the new Masterclasses. The Masterclass will be awarded in the categories “Design”, “Text & Image” and “Storytelling”. No direct application is possible for these; instead, the nomination takes place in the preliminary review of all applicants.
But that’s not all, because there is another prize. Consumers can vote for the winner of the Audience Award, for which any store can apply.

If you’re wondering which of the categories you can log in for – here’s how:
Select one of the industry categories that best applies to you. You must choose one of these categories. You can also choose one of the special categories. This is the only way to actively apply in more than one category. If you run a store in Switzerland or Austria, the login is simple – you take part in the race for the best online store in the respective country. Any store can apply for the Audience Award, regardless of the categories mentioned above. The closing date for all applicants is March 15, 2018.
Your store will then be reviewed by usability experts using a list of criteria. The 5 best stores in each category are then nominated. The final winner of each category is then decided by the expert jury of the award. For the Masterclass, the jury in turn awards the top 3. The award ceremony will take place on May 3 at the Gloria Palast in Munich. How does JTL support you?
As in previous years, we would be delighted to once again find a JTL-Shop among the winners. This will show your customers that you provide them with the best possible service and increase your attractiveness for first-time visitors. If you think you deserve this award, we will be happy to help you. However, we have changed the procedure slightly compared to previous years.
Log in your stores with your service partners. This year they can nominate a total of 15 JTL-Shops in consultation with us. If you do not work with a service partner, you can apply directly to us via info@www.jtl-software.de. We will nominate 5 promising stores ourselves. What’s in it for you? As in previous years, we will pay your registration fee for the award!
