Roadmap

Retailers, service and technology partners can use the API to integrate external applications into JTL-Wawi and expand the ERP with individual additional functions. The programming interface also paves the way for future integrations of AI solutions.

The REST API is continuously maintained and updated by us. Retailers with self-developed solutions and providers of third-party software can rest assured that the API always complies with the latest security and technology standards. If changes are made to the database, the API is updated immediately so that the connected software remains functional and developers do not have to make repeated updates.

The JTL-Wawi API is currently in the open beta phase and can be tested free of charge during this time.

Various interfaces to popular marketplaces are currently in the closed beta phase.

Interested pilot customers can have themselves activated for this marketplace in the JTL-Customer Centre.

Further marketplace connections are being planned and will be provided by third-party providers. The aim is for online retailers to be able to serve all sales channels of their choice directly from JTL-Wawi with the help of our Sales Channel Extension (SCX).

The new open shipping platform optimizes the management of parcel shipments and will also be able to be used independently of JTL-Wawi in the long term. A REST API enables external developers to provide their own plugins for the integration of shipping service providers.

The portal will allow merchants more individual solutions and offer them a larger selection of (international) logistics providers. Customizing addresses for different shipping labels will also be easy thanks to JTL-Wawi’s system independence.

GLS ShipIT is the first interface to be integrated into the shipping platform and supports shippers throughout Europe. It is available as a beta version to selected pilot customers from JTL-Wawi 1.8.5.0. Further integrations are currently under development.

With the help of the new exchange in the JTL-Fulfillment Network, mail order companies can quickly and easily find the right fulfillment service provider.

The principle: instead of combing through the more than 100 fulfillment service providers in the network for a suitable partner themselves, retailers can use the “JTL Fulfillment Matchmaker” to send all service providers an anonymous, needs-based request at the same time. They then receive non-binding applications within 72 hours, which they can easily compare. If there is a convincing application for the retailer, a “match” is made: the retailer sends their contact details to the selected fulfillment service provider and the cooperation can begin.

We want to enable retailers to calculate all prices of an item using their own formulas based on existing data. This allows retailers to fully map their pricing in the item.

The item costs – e.g. purchase price (standard supplier, cheapest supplier, fastest supplier), packaging costs or internal processing fees – are maintained in tabular form in the item details of JTL-Wawi. It should also be possible to store templates for item costs.

The price calculation should be able to be carried out in different ways: manually from the item details of an item, across several items from the item management or automatically via the JTL-Worker.

To enable retailers to better calculate their listings, we are adding a function that shows how much margin a sales order generates. We take into account item costs such as the purchase price as well as other costs such as marketplace fees or usage fees from payment providers.

Stock transfer suggestions in JTL-Wawi are designed to allow you to cleverly transfer your own stock. The aim is to enable you to use your own storage space as efficiently as possible and according to your requirements - without spending a lot of time on analyses and lists.

In future, merchants will be able to create refunds for returned Amazon orders directly in JTL-Wawi and automatically transmit them to Amazon during reconciliation. This means that merchants no longer have to go to Amazon Seller Central separately to arrange the reimbursement for the customer.

We are currently taking the first steps to simplify and automate the JTL-Shop update process. Especially merchants with a self-hosted store will benefit from an automatic updater: It will be able to load and install officially released update packages from JTL servers at the touch of a button. This should prevent potential errors in the previously manual update process and minimize process costs.

In future, customers will no longer have to pay for sales orders in full directly in JTL POS. Instead, cash register operators will be able to create sales orders with down payments correctly in the app for accounting purposes. This means that even more practical cases, such as those that occur in the stationary furniture trade, can be mapped with JTL-POS.

We are continuously expanding the JTL-WMS area. We are currently working on the following topics:

• REST API for JTL-WMS: This interface is intended to enable robot or machine control, for example, as well as integration with third-party provider ERP systems in the long term
• Management of storage aids: JTL-WMS is to be expanded to include storage aids such as pallets, boxes, parcels etc.. This allows complete pallets, boxes or packages to be moved through the warehouse without having to scan the items individually.
• ABC putaway logic: JTL-WMS currently works according to the principle of random warehousing. Storage bins are allocated at random in goods receipt or manually by an employee. With the ABC putaway logic, the warehouse can be sorted in such a way that fast-moving items (A items) are put away near the packing stations during storage. Goods that are rarely sold (C items), on the other hand, are stored in locations that are more difficult to access, e.g. further back in the warehouse or higher up on shelves.
