The second JTL Connect is now behind us. And this year, too, it was a complete success. Our system registered over 1,200 log-ins to the event in the run-up to the event, and a few more people joined us at the box office. But a full house does not a successful event make – the great atmosphere, the presentations bursting with information, the line-up of our exhibitors and not least the fantastic summer weather all contributed to an even more successful JTL Connect than last year. You can get an impression of the trade fair day and the after-party in the following video:

The day at a glance
Even before the official opening of JTL Connect, the foyer and main hall were full to bursting. Many of the visitors took the opportunity not only to equip themselves with coffee and croissants, but also to make or maintain initial contacts. For Thomas Lisson’s keynote speech at 10:00 a.m., all the seats in the plenum were documented. The approximately thirty-minute kick-off offered facts and figures about the development of JTL. The highlight, however, was the information on one of our future projects, the JTL-Fulfillment Network. For those who couldn’t make it to Düsseldorf, you can also watch the keynote in our Facebook livestream.

This was followed by a total of 31 further contributions. The range of topics was wide: whether marketplaces, JTL development, marketing or payment options were of interest – there was something for everyone. To give you a little insight into the presentations, we have made some of them available in our Slideshare account, and we will add more in the coming weeks:

Show me your workflow
As announced in previous blog posts, the three best workflows for the “Show me your Workflow” campaign were also awarded at JTL-Connect. And this is what the podium looked like in the end:
We would like to congratulate our three winners and thank them for their smart workflow solutions.
Picking, packing, shipping
After struggling with a few technical hurdles in the morning, the time had finally come at lunchtime: visitors were able to test JTL-WMS in the live demonstration. Our visitors packed and shipped over 600 parcels using the system and JTL-Packing Bench+. The interest was great – the response was consistently positive.

Nevertheless, there are some aspects that did not run as smoothly as we would have liked in live operation at the trade fair. We have already drawn our conclusions for possible future projects of this kind.
Survey
To find out more about our visitors and customers, we conducted a quick survey of the participants. Feedback on topics related to the event as well as JTL and our products was of particular interest. In addition to many exciting and constructive results, there were also a few surprises:
Very few of our local customers seemed to be familiar with the JTL Project Exchange. This is a platform where customers can post projects of any type and size related to our products. Our service partners then have the opportunity to apply for your project. You can find out more about this in our blog post:
The majority of respondents are also very satisfied with the adjustments to the JTL-Wawi 1.1 interface and find the changes helpful. This is an important feedback point for us to further optimize the operation of our software.
A small highlight for us: JTL Connect lives up to its name – because in addition to the presentations, networking at the trade fair is the main focus for most respondents.
On the boat into the sunset
As in the previous year, we ended the day with a trip on the OCEANDIVA across the Rhine. Cool live music, a lounge atmosphere on the upper deck, good food and perfect weather made for an ideal after-show party. As a special treat, however, we were able to admire an extraordinary light show – the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia celebrated 70 years of NRW and bidder spectacular illumination of the Rhine Tower.

Feedback and opinions on Connect
Some of our exhibitors and visitors have also reviewed this year’s JTL Connect. Some expressed their opinions via social media, others in blogs and on websites. We have captured a selection of the voices for you:
Facebook feedback
Thank you very much for this really successful trade fair. We were already totally flashed last year, but this year you went one better! It was great to meet many customers in person, or to see them again. You only meet many of them once a year, but it still feels like being part of a big family. And at this point a “warm welcome” to all those who were there for the first time or just wanted to get a taste of the ecosystem around JTL software!
It was nice! JTL Connect is now over again. We got to know many new faces and gained new impressions. We had a great day together with our partners from unitech, Datalogic, Saphirsolution, Amtangee and abcfinance, who supported us at our stand. At the end of the day we were happy and were able to end the day with a smile. The food was great, the atmosphere was fantastic and we are looking forward to next year! Many thanks to the JTL-Software team and the great organization!

After the Connect is before the Connect
Finally, we would like to thank all visitors, partners, sponsors, speakers and helpers for a successful event. The atmosphere in the audience was once again a wonderful experience for us this year. Special thanks go to our main sponsor DHL, who were also a great help in implementing the live WMS.
We are already looking forward to next year! And you?
