Last week, we were guests at two events – the eCommerce Berlin Expo and Net & Work in Dortmund. Both events were exciting and informative for us. We would therefore like to report briefly on them afterwards.
eCommerce Berlin Expo
On February 15, the E-Commerce Get Together took place for the third time in Berlin. Many representatives from eCommerce and marketing attended the event, as did around 4,000 visitors. We were there together with our partner Solution360 and familiarized interested parties with our product world.
It is always exciting to meet complete JTL newcomers and hear them talk about their requirements and experiences in eCommerce. The event offered plenty of opportunity for this, and the crowd was huge. By lunchtime, the information materials we had brought with us were already coming to an end. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all the interesting discussion partners!
Our highlight came later in the event – we were nominated in the “Best Platform / Shop Software” category of the eCommerce Berlin Awards. Before the actual jury decision, everyone had the opportunity to vote for the nominated companies to be shortlisted by the jury. And you made sure of that! Not only that: we actually took home third place among all platform and store solutions. Thank you very much for your trust and your votes.
Net & Work
Just two days later, the next round of events took place at the Net & Work of the Händlerbund in Dortmund. It was the online retail association’s first event – and a resounding success. With 1,300 participants, many presentations, roundtables and workshops, we were very impressed by this first event appearance of our own.
We were there as an exhibitor with a stand area of 72m2 as well as a speaker and roundtable organizer. Around 20 JTL service partners joined us and helped us to deal with the huge number of inquiries, many of which were about switching to JTL systems. A large part of the stand area was taken up by the JTL-WMS stand, where visitors were able to test our warehouse management solution live, just like at our own in-house exhibition JTL-Connect. 216 parcels were sent via ParcelOne from our stand on this day. Many people were surprised at how easy it was to use the system. And, hand on heart, I was also impressed. I used JTL-WMS for the first time in the morning – twenty minutes later I was already a pro.
Another highlight of the day was our presentation on fulfillment, which was also well attended. Under the title “Fulfillment vs. in-house shipping: fulfillment is always more expensive – or not?”, our colleague Arne Theisen presented some exciting background information. Anyone expecting an answer to this question will have to wait a little longer. This much can be revealed: We are also working on this very topic for you in a different form and will be presenting it online soon.
