Software Release JTL-Shop - Version 4.06

JTL-Shop 4.06 now available

Update-Hinweis (Stand: 12.2022)

Die technische Unterstützung für JTL-Shop 4 wurde im November 2022 eingestellt. Wir empfehlen allen Shop-Usern dringend das kostenfreie Upgrade auf JTL-Shop 5.

Our store solution is now available as stable version 4.06. We are sure that our highlight innovations in particular will be well received by you and your customers – because convenience for buyers is the motto of version 4.06.

Prominent new features in JTL-Shop 4.06

The release focuses on the core topics that we have already presented to you in our feature previews in the past. Here is a brief overview:

Shortened checkout

The simpler the checkout, the fewer abandoned sales – that’s not just our view, but yours too. Shortening the checkout from 6 to just 3 steps was one of the most popular requests from retailers last year. From now on, customers will start with “Login/Registration/Billing and delivery address”, then move on to selecting the shipping and payment method and finish the checkout with the order overview and completion. You can find everything else about the 3-step checkout here:

Item listings

The list view of items in JTL-Shop has been enriched with some new display options. Using hover effects and previews, buyers can now select variation articles and variation combinations. This increases the overview, although more information is bidder to the customer at the same time. You can find our blog post on item listings here:

Further innovations

In addition to these two new features for JTL-Shop users, we have packed another core feature into version 4.06 – installment payments powered by PayPal. Similar to previous releases, there are also lots of improvements, fixes and adjustments in the background.

Payment in installments Powered by PayPal

If you have JTL-Wawi version 1.3.15.5 or higher, you can also offer your shoppers the option of paying in installments in combination with JTL-Shop 4.06. The update of the PayPal plugin to version 1.09 for JTL-Shop integrates the often requested installment payment Powered by PayPal into our shop solution.

The payment option increases the flexibility of the entire payment process for buyers. According to PayPal, this has already resulted in up to 8 percent more new customers. In addition, our technology partner reports that customers like to buy higher-priced products by paying in installments – as a result, shopping baskets become fuller. All in all, the new function offers more options for shoppers and therefore provides every retailer with the opportunity to increase sales. All interested merchants have to do is log in to PayPal and activate the installment payment option. All further information on the payment option can be found on the landing page for installment payments powered by PayPal.

Please note: If you have been using a plugin version lower than 1.06, you may have to reinstall the plugin, including setting up the access data and linking to shipping methods.

Changes under the hood

As with previous releases, JTL-Shop 4.06 also contains many other changes and adjustments. Some of these are improvements to the general store performance, others are aimed at the stability and security of our solution. You can view the complete scope in our changelog.
