More efficiency for shipping and returns with JTL-Wawi 1.1
New merchandise management version addresses customer requirements
Hückelhoven, June 07, 2016 – JTL-Software-GmbH is once again tweaking its core product, JTL-Wawi. Version 1.1 of the company’s free ERP system is available from today. With this software update, the eCommerce experts are not only focusing on industry trends, but are also incorporating customer feedback. JTL-Wawi 1.1 therefore provides sophisticated returns management, the JTL-Packing Bench+, price comparison options for retailers, revised menu structures and many other new features.
More convenience with new returns processing
Even if returns are an unpleasant aspect of mail order and online business, retailers should not treat them neglectfully. On the contrary, they are an important decision-making aid for undecided buyers. However, those who handle their returns as quickly and smoothly as possible offer a plus in customer satisfaction. JTL has addressed the underlying logistics and warehouse management for version 1.1 of JTL-Wawi. The new tool is very similar to other JTL modules such as the WMS and the packing table – so there is no need for a long familiarization period. The application created specifically for returns management helps retailers to identify, check and post returns quickly and easily. To this end, the development team also expanded item management to include clearly defined item conditions for quick and error-free classification of returns. The result of initial tests with pilot customers: Users benefited from high time savings and a lower susceptibility to errors – not least thanks to the high level of automation via workflows.
Powerful and free of charge
The new update for JTL’s ERP is aimed in particular at optimizing and increasing the efficiency of functions already included. For example, the JTL-Packing Bench, which was previously only available as a separate license, has become the free JTL-Packing Bench+. The module now addresses medium-sized customers as well as those with low sales order volumes or small warehouses. Warehouse employees will therefore be able to commission sales orders using a pick list, but also process individual item deliveries via the software.
The Hückelhoven-based company has also given the system’s menu structure a facelift. In addition to new icons in the menu bar, users will find a revised menu structure in the Wawi. In the design, JTL emphasized short work paths and a logical structure to enable users to learn quickly and work intuitively. Numerous other changes enrich version 1.1 with useful enhancements, be it the UPS integration for JTL-Shipping or the new price comparison. The latter provides an overview of competitors’ prices directly within the Wawi. This allows retailers to react directly to the price structures of different marketplaces.
“Efficient returns management has been one of the core topics in retail for some time now – especially when it comes to customer satisfaction. And this is precisely what we are addressing with JTL-Wawi 1.1 in various areas,” comments Thomas Lisson, Managing Director of JTL-Software-GmbH, on the new release. “JTL’s goal is to enable professional-level eCommerce for everyone. To achieve this, we are continuously fine-tuning our solutions.”
