JTL-Wawi 1.6: New version offers the most comprehensive update of the JTL core to date

The company publishes a milestone for ERP, sales channels and logistics solutions at the same time

Hückelhoven, May 18, 2022 – With JTL-Wawi 1.6, JTL-Software-GmbH is releasing far-reaching innovations for its free ERP system. Over the past three years, the company has put its core product to the test and revised it. Purchasing and sales have undergone significant changes, as has invoice management. At the same time, JTL-Wawi 1.6 expands the JTL-eazyAuction marketplace interface to include two additional marketplaces – Kaufland.de and Otto.de. And the logistics solutions JTL-WMS and JTL-Fulfillment Network are also feeling the fresh wind that comes with an optimized app and lots of convenient functions.

Good buying and selling in JTL-Wawi 1.6

The pandemic may have brought public life to a partial standstill, but online business flourished like never before. JTL Software used the time to take a close look at the requirements and behavior of its merchant customers. The development teams critically scrutinized and rethought existing concepts – the goal: to set a milestone in the company’s own merchandise management development with JTL-Wawi 1.6.

The update allows retailers in sales to display the flood of information from their flourishing business according to their own wishes. They can highlight their own set of key figures, hide or rearrange detailed information. The software company has also lent a hand with replenishment: Requirements can be calculated even more precisely using specially defined factors and thus adapted to the shopper. Anyone interested in how the previous purchase price per supplier has developed can also conveniently track this in a history. This is valuable information for astute business people, especially in view of the currently rising prices in all areas.

Complex tax regulations apply in eCommerce, which also need to be covered on the software side. For example, the tax key is now only bound at item level, and invoice corrections are only possible via a reversal. The option to cover delivered partial quantities via partial invoices also gives online retailers more flexibility for their accounting.

More marketplaces thanks to opening interfaces

A wide listing of marketplace connections and thus sales channels is a gain for every sales professional. Until now, JTL software has covered Amazon and eBay, with further integrations possible through partners. But in JTL-Wawi 1.6, the company is showing its customers that the future is “open”. This is because the opening of the JTL-eazyAuction marketplace interface will enable the integration of any online sales channels in the future. Kaufland.de and Otto.de are already being productively tested and will be made available to all customers as part of the publication. Further integrations will follow, both from JTL and through partner developments.

Increased efficiency from mobile use to robot technology

Nevertheless, the logistics products from the Hückelhoven-based developer benefit from the massive 1.6 update. For example, it enables retailers to make extensive use of the popular “JTL-WMS Mobile” app even without using the powerful JTL-WMS warehouse management system. The in-house app experts have paid particular attention to offering the most convenient management of stock on smart devices via QR codes and scans. Those who wanted more mobile working can now also carry out inventories or returns processing via cell phone and tablet.

JTL-WMS itself also relies on faster data entry via GS1-128 bar code scans. In terms of sustainability in the shipping process, the new carton management system helps to determine the retailer’s packaging requirements more accurately – an economic and ecological bonus in equal measure. The software company also takes into account the fact that its customers have grown steadily in terms of company size and sales order volume in recent years. Warehouse management now also covers the delivery of identical sales orders in large quantities as well as the sophisticated use of robot technology in the AutoStore process.

Last but not least, members of the JTL-Fulfillment Network, the large network of fulfillment service providers and retailers, can rejoice. The eagerly awaited automated returns process is now fully integrated. The efficiency gain from this should not be underestimated in today’s shipping world.

“In no other version of our ERP have we implemented as many feature and improvement requests from our customers as in JTL-Wawi 1.6. The continuous dialog with the JTL community is the basis of our innovative strength. Many thanks to all users who have contributed to JTL-Wawi 1.6,” says JTL Managing Director Ralph Schweiker. One of the JTL founders also expressed his satisfaction: “JTL-Wawi 1.6 is a milestone in which a lot of effort and passion has gone into. But after the release is before the release. The first concepts for the next version are already in the works!”
