JTL-Wawi 1.5: Focus on convenience and legal certainty

New version simplifies trading on online marketplaces, integrates new payment policy and enables use of the JTL-Fulfillment Network

Hückelhoven, September 17, 2019 – JTL-Software-GmbH is releasing version 1.5 of its free ERP system JTL-Wawi today with numerous new features. Particular attention was paid to improvements in the areas of Amazon and eBay, which make trading on online marketplaces more convenient. In addition, the JTL development team has adapted the payment module for the PSD2 directive in version 1.5 and laid the foundation for the integration of the new JTL-Fulfillment Network.

Numerous improvements in the area of electronic marketplaces

JTL is known for developing close to the needs of the community. The integration of Amazon’s Invoice Document Uploader (IDU) was at the top of the feature wish list. This allows retailers to upload invoices and refunds as PDFs centrally from the ERP to Amazon for customer download.

Amazon’s VAT Calculation Service (VCS), which the online marketplace has expanded to include the option of “Self Invoice” (VCS 2.0), is also receiving an update. It enables sellers to continue to outsource their VAT calculation to Amazon, but to create their own invoices in the company layout.

The company is also responding to the growing trend of offering personalized products via Amazon. By specifically integrating Amazon Custom into the ERP system, information on desired name badges, mug prints or T-shirt prints can be viewed directly in the ERP system.

Finally, the JTL developers tackled Amazon’s compliance settings. In future, merchants who ship their goods via Amazon (FBA) will be able to store the important information as to whether items are classified as hazardous goods or contain batteries. In version 1.5, the software provider integrates many of the marketplace giant’s new convenience functions and avoids disruptive system breaks for users.

The Hückelhoven-based Company is not losing sight of sales via the second largest marketplace. For the new merchandise management version, JTL has also rewritten the eBay order import from scratch and built it on a more error-tolerant code base. The advantage for the user is clean database backups. Together with a new user interface (UI) with a strong focus on the user experience, the company is strengthening its customers’ trading with the digital auction house.

Changes in payment reconciliation comply with PSD2 directive

Of course, JTL-Wawi 1.5 also complies with the new Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), which came into force on September 14, 2019, thanks to the changes made to payment reconciliation. In addition, as part of this directive, credit cards or banks that implement XS2A (Access to Account) can also be connected with the new JTL-Wawi version.

The EBICS integration (Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard) – a German multibank-capable standard for the transmission of payment transaction data – has been created in JTL-Wawi 1.5, but is currently in a closed beta phase that will soon be activated for all users.

Seamless integration of the new JTL-Fulfillment Network

Shortly before the release of JTL-Wawi 1.5, the completely revised JTL-Fulfillment Network (JTL-FFN) has entered its open beta phase. The network represents a significant advantage for merchants and fulfillers alike: By linking both groups in one portal, interaction and collaboration between the parties is significantly easier. Whereas previously a retailer had to manually search for fulfillers and their specific services via a search engine, they can now find them with just a few clicks thanks to a sophisticated search mask. The JTL-Fulfillment Network is already seamlessly integrated into JTL-Wawi 1.5, so that basic fulfillment processes can be conveniently controlled from the ERP.
