JTL-Software releases JTL-Shop 4

More performance, new responsive template system and free Community Free Edition

Hückelhoven, 19.10.2015. JTL-Software, manufacturer of the merchandise management solution JTL-Wawi for the mail order business, has released version 4 of its in-house shop software JTL-Shop. JTL-Shop 4 is significantly faster thanks to a new cache system and offers a new responsive EVO template with many ready-made templates. In addition, the new JTL-Shop supports the payment services PayPal PLUS and PayPal Express.

In addition to the classic rental version for €49.99 per month and the three license versions Standard, Professional and Enterprise, a free Community Free Edition is available for the first time. This is limited to 500 items and does not include service and support. In combination with the free JTL-Wawi ERP, the Free Edition makes it easier to get started with online business without any financial investment.

JTL-Software has completely overhauled its store system for this version in terms of technology, appearance and usability for retailers and customers.

Speed

The speed of a store has become an important factor for customers today when it comes to completing a purchase. If they have to wait too long for the desired products to be displayed during their shopping trip, they quickly become frustrated and abandon the purchase. JTL-Software has now doubled the speed of the new JTL-Shop compared to JTL-Shop 3 thanks to a new cache system. As a result, the new online store can process even more user requests in even less time.

New template system

The most important innovation for online retailers is a new template system. This system, known as the EVO template, offers 18 ready-made, responsive templates (called themes) and 13 background images, which can be used to create a modern store without any programming knowledge. A total of 234 theme combinations are possible.

Items and customer reviews in the search engine results

The new JTL-Shop is delivered with rich snippets support to improve the display of products in search engines. This means that users can already see items and customer reviews (e.g. the familiar star ratings) in the search engine results.

Responsive, completely redesigned back end

The back end has also been technically revised and is now responsive. With JTL-Shop 4, retailers can conveniently make settings for their shop or call up statistics, orders and emails while on the move. In addition, the entire menu structure has been rethought. Many functions are now better organized and sorted.

PayPal Plus and PayPal Express

With PayPal PLUS, merchants receive the four most popular payment methods of German consumers from a single source: in addition to PayPal, their customers can choose between SEPA-compliant direct debit, credit card and, from the end of 2015, invoice.

Compatibility with JTL-Shop 3

JTL-Shop 4 is largely downwards compatible with JTL-Shop 3. Most plugins and templates from JTL-Shop 3 also work in version 4.

Prices

In terms of pricing models, JTL Software is offering a free Community Free Edition for its own store software for the first time in addition to the rental and purchase solution.

The Community Free license allows retailers to set up and use a JTL-Shop with up to 500 items. In combination with the free ERP, it is now possible to get started in eCommerce without any financial investment in store software and ERP. A later upgrade to a higher edition of the store is possible at any time.

JTL-Software is offering special conditions for existing customers until 15.01.2016, allowing them to upgrade during a contract period.
