Kauflands Multi-Marktplatz-Technologie

Kaufland’s multi-marketplace technology: sales to start in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2023

JTL-Wawi beta testers already know: Version 1.6 includes, among many other new features, additional marketplace connections beyond Amazon and eBay for the first time. Currently, they can mainly access the interface to Kaufland.de and already use it to expand their own sales channels. This makes this news from our partner all the more relevant: Kaufland will also open online marketplaces in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2023.

The Kaufland Global Marketplace

The expansion of the stores to the countries mentioned lays the foundation for the launch of the “Kaufland Global Marketplace”. By means of a simple registration process, the opportunities for retailers are extended beyond the German market in one fell swoop. The existing German marketplace team is responsible for networking international trade in the background.

In fact, Kaufland is already established as a retailer in Slovakia and the Czech Republic and is even one of the largest retailers there. The step towards online business in both markets was therefore an obvious one, as the brand is already established.

As a marketplace in Germany, Kaufland itself has been one of the fastest growing brands online for several years. This was another reason why it made sense for us to integrate it into the retail platform.

The new marketplace interface in JTL-Wawi 1.6

Attentive readers of our blog may already know, but here it is again in a nutshell: We have been working for some time on a new generic API that will allow you to access other marketplaces natively from JTL-Wawi in addition to eBay and Amazon.

We will offer these new multichannel options as part of JTL-eazyAuction in the future – concrete details on pricing and use will follow in due course. However, the integration with Kaufland.de is the most advanced in this case. It was introduced in JTL-Wawi with version 1.6.31.0 and has been available to pilot customers since then. It is already in productive testing so that you will ideally have full access to a powerful and reliable interface for the stable release of JTL-Wawi 1.6.

You can find more information on the technical background in an earlier developer diary (at that time, the marketplace interface still had the working title JTL-SCX).

Early Bird campaign of the platform

Those who register for the new marketplaces in advance will enjoy special benefits: This is because these retailers sell on Kaufland.cz and Kaufland.sk for six months after the launch without basic fees and sales commission. On top of this, the marketplace provider offers a personal credit. To ensure that nothing stands in the way of preparing for the sale, Kaufland offers various services such as product data translation or assistance with tax and legal issues for the respective countries.

You don’t want to miss out on these benefits? Then register now with Kaufland via the link below! And you can start selling in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with Kaufland and JTL-eazyAuction in 2023.
