As has been known for some time, Amazon will open new shipping centers in Poland and the Czech Republic for its retailers as part of the expansion of its European shipping network. In future, some of the goods in stock will be delivered there and shipped to end customers from here, i.e. from another EU country. Such shipments must be treated differently for tax purposes by retailers based in Germany. Numerous retailers are already participating in the expansion program for the new Central European shipping network.
Consideration of the country of dispatch for tax determination as of JTL-Wawi 1.0.1
Up to and including JTL-Wawi 1.0.0, the company country was always used as the basis for the tax calculation. If the company was based in Germany, but the goods were shipped to the customer from another EU country, this could not be determined correctly and automatically for tax purposes. This has now changed with JTL-Wawi 1.0.1.
As of JTL-Wawi 1.0.1, specific tax settings can be made for each Company and shipping country (the country from which the goods are shipped to the end customer). It is also possible to store other tax keys for the booking data export in these new tax settings for the additional shipping countries.

As part of the expansion, additional USTIDs from other EU countries can now be maintained for each Company. It is now also possible to specify whether the delivery threshold has been reached in the respective country so that the correct USTID automatically appears on the invoice.

When entering the order, the Company and/or the shipping country can be adjusted so that the correct taxes are determined automatically. Amazon FBA orders that are shipped from fulfillment centers in other countries are thus automatically recorded by JTL-Wawi 1.0.1 and the shipping country is set correctly in the order. As a result, the country-specific taxes are calculated correctly.

You can also find step-by-step instructions for correctly configured tax settings for shipments from foreign warehouses in the JTL-Guide. With the help of the tax tutorial: Warehouses abroad, you first create the respective VAT ID number, then select the shipping countries and tax settings and finally set up the corresponding delivery threshold.
We wish you successful business with these new possibilities from JTL-Wawi 1.0.1!
