The optimal route to the customer: JTL-Wawi 1.4 focuses on customer overview and logistics

The new version presents old features in a fresh look as well as improvements for everyday warehouse operations

Hückelhoven, May 09, 2019 – As of today, customers of JTL-Software-GmbH can access the new version 1.4 of its free ERP system JTL-Wawi. The new major release from the German provider brings with it numerous functional improvements and enhancements. The focus is on three important core topics in online business: customer overview, warehouse management and shipping. Version 1.4 allows customers to add new windows with relevant customer data. In addition, JTL-WMS warehouse management now includes a scales connection, while shipment tracking via JTL-Track&Trace has been introduced for shipping.

Customer 2.0 - more customer overview

Customer management is a central component of ERP – it includes customer data, history and other important information. Reason enough to regularly put this part of JTL-Wawi to the test and further optimize it. The aim of the revision – under the development title “Customer 2.0” – was to revise the customer overview and customer details areas both in terms of usability and the information displayed. The result in the new release: the system now uses a widget to display central customer data such as order history, payment behavior or returns rate in a dialogue box. The practical relevance of the daily exchange with the customer increases, as users now have an optimal overview at a glance during customer meetings. It creates a decisive advantage when categorizing customers or in the event of cancellations and discount negotiations.

Warehouse and logistics - more control

Major innovations in JTL-Wawi 1.4 concern the logistics area: the developers have added manual workflows to the JTL-WMS warehouse management system and JTL-Packing Bench+ now includes a goods receipt. The former enables the efficient automation of everyday processes, which warehouse employees can trigger independently. The beta version of the scale connection, which was presented at last year’s JTL-Connect trade fair, is now an integral part of JTL-Wawi 1.4. Warehouse employees can use it to record the exact weight of goods at the point of dispatch in order to avoid expensive recalculations due to incorrect shipping labels. Especially retailers who use Amazon’s “Prime by Seller” benefit from this new control feature.

JTL also offers its customers a completely redesigned app for use in the warehouse. It is available on all common platforms and is linked to use with the new merchandise management version.

JTL-Track&Trace, which the software company is making available as an open beta version this spring, also promises more control. JTL-Wawi 1.4 already includes all elements of this shipment tracking option. The test phase for this should start a few weeks after today’s release. Together with the workflows, JTL-Track&Trace enables comprehensive shipment tracking and management. The developers paid particular attention to automated communication with the customer. This shortens the response time to customer inquiries and at the same time increases customer satisfaction.

Amazon offer mapping - more independence

Online retailers who sell on Amazon in particular can look forward to the new Amazon listing mapping: this allows them to variably link master items to their own Amazon listings – regardless of Amazon’s SKUs. For the first time, they can also assign master items to any number of Amazon listings, regardless of whether they process them via in-house shipping or fulfillment by Amazon.

“Performance and stability optimizations are common with all our releases, but we also want to offer our customers software solutions that make their day-to-day workflows increasingly easier,” says Thomas Lisson, Managing Director of JTL-Software-GmbH, summing up the new version of the core product. “JTL-Wawi 1.4 pays tribute to this approach. By improving core areas that are important for every online retailer, almost all of our customers benefit from this major release.”
