Since 2014, our range has been helping many people to give up smoking. But in 2016, our heads are spinning: we are urgently looking for a new eCommerce solution.
When we open the first branch of Marty’s Megastore in Vienna, we are one of the first suppliers of e-cigarettes, liquids and accessories. Our Magento-powered webshop e-zigarette24.com goes online at the same time as the retail store. Both sales channels are successful – so successful that we reach the limits of our capacity after two years.
We need an ERP system that can keep pace with our growth
While our Company is growing steadily, the Magento store can no longer cope satisfactorily with the increasing sales volumes. Coordinating store sales, online shipping and item and warehouse management is becoming a time-consuming task and increasingly provokes errors. It is particularly annoying when duplicate sales occur in the store and online store, as the correct stock levels are not taken into account in real time. A high-performance ERP system is essential for the planned store expansion.
Switch to JTL-Wawi and Shopware 5 - with JTL-Connector
At the beginning of 2017, we set up JTL-Wawi and switched to Shopware 5. The data migration and synchronization is done by JTL-Connector: First, we transfer all basic data (categories, products) from the old Magento shop to JTL-Wawi via the interface. After a few individual adjustments, which I can make myself, we load them into the new store system via the Shopware connector. The functional possibilities of the connector interface have fully convinced us. Today, we also use it to fill store attributes, features and other database fields in our online store.
With JTL, old problems vanish into thin air
JTL-Wawi has set the course for our success. We now operate three stores whose sales are managed directly in the merchandise management system. The smallest changes are immediately updated in all systems and compared with the warehouse. Overselling is finally a thing of the past.
In 2018, we set up a new warehouse for our online shipping in Slovakia. We brought Smart Lemon on board as a JTL service partner for the implementation of JTL-WMS there, including an interface to the shipping service provider. Since then, all online orders have been automatically served from the Slovakian warehouse and coordinated with the liquid production.
Overall, JTL-Wawi paired with the integration of Shopware has made our everyday business life much easier. Synergies between online retail, stores, warehouse, production and logistics are now efficiently utilized. The switch to JTL has significantly accelerated all processes and is one of the best decisions we have made for our business.
