Handmade is all the rage and is achieving high growth rates in e-commerce. When I implemented my business idea, it was important to me to have many pillars and broad multichanneling.
At first, I never dreamed of earning money from sewing and needlework later on. My first attempts were laborious and the results were still poor. But that changes. First I sewed for my own children, then for my friends. I soon developed the talent and skill to create something special and handmade. So why not dare to do more?
Offers on markets and the DaWanda marketplace
At the beginning of 2015, I register my business and visit my first markets to present my work. Praise and encouragement are not lacking. Together with my husband, I decide to offer homemade items, fabrics and haberdashery via DaWanda and my own online store. I rely on JTL-Wawi to centrally manage items and stock and to keep other sales channels open for healthy growth.
Multichannel par excellence: Amazon, eBay and your own store!
Orders via DaWanda and my online store are picking up speed. However, I still want to become more independent. I connect Amazon Handmade and eBay via the JTL merchandise management system. With Unicorn 2, I also have access to other marketplaces that are of interest to me. And with the LS-POS POS system for JTL-Wawi, I’m able to manage my mobile sales on the markets, as well as the sales in my store for beautiful fabrics & things near Cologne since 2017.
I am super happy to be able to position myself so broadly and securely in the handmade market with JTL’s software. JTL also offers me simple, easy-to-understand solutions and numerous automated processes in my day-to-day business without having to employ various specialists. This also allows me to concentrate on what I can really do: good craftsmanship. Really great!
