In 2012, we start with an online store from Data Becker. The software quickly becomes a problem and we have to reorient ourselves.
The switch to xtcModified took place in 2013. But here, too, we quickly reached our limits. Many things are too cumbersome and we can’t really develop any further. We need an Application that can also serve eBay and Amazon and, above all, reliably manage our inventories.
Data transfer as the biggest challenge
We then made the switch to JTL in 2014. The integration of the marketplaces via JTL-eazyAuction and the warehouse management with JTL-WMS are decisive for us. We now have over 37,000 items on listing – the data migration is correspondingly complex. But with our service partner, SJ Media Consulting, we managed it well in the end and are very satisfied with the changeover.
Online store has priority
In order to maintain and expand our market share, we must constantly improve and develop. There are always challenges to overcome, such as ensuring a coherent shipping configuration for our products, which makes some adjustments necessary. Good news so far – our store is becoming more flexible and popular and many things are becoming easier. Our aim is also to move away from marketplaces and fees so that we are no longer exposed to increasing cost pressure.
Conclusion
We only jumped on the JTL bandwagon at the 3rd attempt and would have saved a lot of money if we had gone straight for JTL. The system can grow with the company. However, depending on your requirements, you should consult a JTL partner. With the large functional areas, you will otherwise quickly reach the end of your expertise.
