“Hey, let’s sell some flags, the World Cup is coming to our own country!” No sooner said than done. In 2006, we go online with everflag.de and xt:Commerce.
We quadruple our turnover by 2008 – now we need a merchandise management system to be able to manage order processing even more efficiently. In the same year, we switch to JTL-Wawi and from then on maintain our product range via the JTL-Connector. In 2009, we move into a new company building with 600 square meters of storage space.
Better ranking after switching from xt:Commerce to JTL-Shop
At the same time, we opened our first JTL-Shop in 2011 under the domain dekochef.de. We quickly realized that the SEO module at the time was already giving us significantly better visibility on Google after a short time than the xt:Commerce store we had had for a long time. In 2012, we also switched to JTL-Shop with everflag.de.
Problems in the warehouse - introduction of JTL-WMS
As order volumes continue to grow, we will have increasing problems with shortages and disgruntled customers from the end of 2013. We have to rethink our warehouse processes. Through JTL, I have the opportunity to be shown the WMS warehouse of a reference customer. That was convincing. We converted ourselves at the beginning of 2016 and have been very satisfied ever since.
Scalability helps enormously
JTL-WMS ensures that our stock levels are correct and that we can pick and pack more efficiently and without errors. The new software also allows us to achieve scalability in our warehouse. Previously, someone had to have a lot of experience to find their way around our warehouse system – now we can put additional employees into the warehouse “off the street” during the season – and they can pick, pack and dispatch effectively after just a short training period. In the words of one of our employees: “I love my WMS – I wouldn’t want to work without it.”
