The New Year’s Eve rockets have only just fizzled out and we’re already setting off the first release fireworks in 2023. In the slipstream of the New Year, we have launched JTL-Shop 5.2 and thus put one of our Good New Year’s resolutions directly into practice. As with all our solutions, we have done everything we can to fulfill many of your wishes for our store system in the spirit of community-driven development.
The new version is now available for download. In addition to new features for improved usability, we have tweaked a few things to give you even more options when designing your digital shop window. But JTL-Shop 5.2 has much more to offer. Find out here what new functions there are to discover.
Shopping with the eye: More design options in JTL-Shop 5.2
JTL-Shop 5.2 has a few new features, especially when it comes to the appearance of your online shop: First of all, we have given the configurator a new look and improved its user-friendliness at the same time. Furthermore, the popular header plugin is now integrated into the default setting of the NOVA template and other header displays are possible. You can work with ready-made layouts, but also make your own settings and customize the header.
In addition, JTL-Shop 5.2 has a natively integrated (S)CSS editor, which means you can now easily make visual changes to the template – without a child template and theme editor plugin. Color adjustment of the NOVA template is also no longer a problem. You can now activate a preview for a created template and test it before publication.
With the modified product stream in OnPage Composer, individual items can be selected in the new store version. You no longer have to go through the filter function and can simply put together any mix of items with just a few clicks and display them in the product stream. For an even better user experience, there is also a “Back to item list” button that takes your customers from the item detail view back to the previous list. Another advantage: the variation selection of items is now already visible in the gallery view.
Optimized address management
In JTL-Shop 5.2, many different delivery addresses can now be created under “My account”. This is particularly useful in the B2B area, as orders with different delivery addresses (to different branches or employees) are regularly received here. Your customers can also independently create new addresses in the checkout process and edit or delete existing ones as well as specify a default delivery address.
Set discounts & bestsellers flexibly
You now have the option of marking items as not eligible for discount. So if you want to offer a discount promotion for a certain group of items, you can easily exclude individual products from it. This function is important for fixed book prices, for example.
You can also define certain time periods that should be taken into account when determining bestsellers. This allows you to flexibly set whether you want to highlight the best-selling items of the last week or the past year, for example. This option can also help you to gain important insights for optimizing your sales strategy.
PayPal Checkout
The PayPal Commerce plugin offers new functions that are only available with JTL-Shop 5.2. Firstly, the update includes an integrated white-label credit card payment, which makes this payment method much easier for your customers. Secondly, it is now possible to transfer shipment information to PayPal if it is provided via JTL-Wawi. This benefits a smooth workflow between PayPal and you as the store operator.
Going international
We also take into account the fact that many of you are increasingly internationalizing your trade: The new version of JTL-Shop includes an improved translation tool that makes it easy to check where translations are still missing. This ensures that all item descriptions are available in the correct languages without having to check each item individually.
