What many mail order merchants have wanted for a long time is now becoming reality with JTL-Wawi 1.0 and the integrated JTL-Shipping. From August 24th, with the release of version 1.0 of our ERP, you can use our new shipping tool.
Integration of logistics providers possible without third-party software
With the possibility of direct integration of logistics providers in JTL-Wawi, we are taking another big step towards “everything from a single source” with our ERP. Third-party software is no longer required to integrate a shipping service provider. All you need is the access data for your business customers account with your logistics provider.
After a short setup, you can use JTL-Wawi to create and print the desired parcel labels or stamps from any workstation with an Internet connection. The tracking information for your parcel shipments is also displayed directly in JTL-Wawi. With JTL-Shipping and JTL-Wawi 1.0, it is now even very easy to analyze which senders need how much time to deliver their shipments to the addressee.
As a first step, we have integrated the shippers that are most used by our customers into JTL-Wawi 1.0. These are DHL, DHL Express, DPD, Hermes and Internetmarke (Internet postage). Almost all shipping services offered by the respective interfaces are available for these logistics providers. You will find a detailed list of these services below. Interfaces and shipping services are kept technically up to date by us.
Performance of the external interfaces
How quickly is a shipping label generated? Our internal tests have shown that senders need an average of 1.5 to 2.5 seconds to generate a label and send it to us. If the internet connection is slow, this can take a little longer, but only very little data needs to be transmitted. Added to this is the time the printer needs to print the label.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied with these values. Even fast piecework packers who work with JTL-WMS can benefit from the integration. The warehouse employee also needs the few seconds until the label is finished to place the goods in the parcel. The finished parcel label can be affixed immediately afterwards.
First positive practical experience with JTL-Shipping
When JTL-Wawi 1.0 is released, JTL-Shipping will still be in beta status. But there are already some merchants who are successfully printing and using parcel labels and stamps with the current beta version of JTL-Wawi. Numerous test runs have been positive.
In the weeks following the release, we will work with all customers to see how performant and stable the web connections to the logistics providers are under full load. We have no experience of this ourselves, but we are confident that the interfaces will work reliably even with increasing access numbers. If there are any isolated problems, you can switch to another shipper with just a few clicks.

Please note: Not all shipping services are currently listed via the DPD Cloud Service. However, depending on demand from retailers, these will be activated gradually. If you ship via a depot, you must be activated by the relevant depot. Depending on the depot, one-off costs and a monthly fee will be charged.
