Many of you have probably already seen it: The JTL forum shines in new splendor. But it’s not just the look that has changed, we’ve also added some new functions. In this item, we will reveal the advantages of the revised discussion platform in detail.
Important reasons for the revision
With the revision, we are offering our community an improved version with more options. The top priority was to ensure smoother use of the platform, especially at peak times. The key to this was faster servers and a more powerful system. We also focused on security and scored full marks in tests by SSLLabs and others. We have also worked on the design: The forum now blends in better with the look and feel of the website. The optimized interface is also better suited for display on mobile devices.
What's new?
Here is an overview of the most important new features:
Clear sidebar: On the start page of the JTL forum, you now have the option of displaying a sidebar with user statistics and other information. The latter include, for example, “Tips and tricks”, which provide you with short video tutorials with tips on our products.
Integrated calendar: In the top navigation of the start page, a calendar shows you upcoming events such as regulars’ tables, trade fairs and the like.
Create a new post: If you want to create a new post, you will be suggested existing matching topics. This way we can minimize the frequent duplicate threads on the same topic and ensure a better overview.
Topic preview: A hover effect shows you a preview of the first post in the thread you are currently hovering over.
Topic suggestions for related posts: At the bottom of each discussion you will find suggestions for similar topics if you are looking for further information.
Keyword Manager: We have integrated a keyword manager so that you don’t have to ask yourself what abbreviations or other terms in comments mean. Individual words and word groups are provided with explanatory information and further links. If you move your mouse over the blue words, a tooltip appears with everything you need to know, which we will expand in the future.
The quick search: In addition to the normal search function, there is now a quick search. This is located above the topic overview of a sub-forum and only searches the selected area.
Changes
To make the forum even clearer, we have reorganized some areas.
JTL-Shipping: JTL-Shipping now has its own sub-forum. As this area, which was previously located under JTL-Wawi, is highly frequented, we have now dedicated a separate sub-forum to it.
JTL-Search and JTL-Repricer: We have dissolved the JTL-Services section, but kept and moved the discussion groups for JTL-Search and JTL-Repricer. JTL-Search is now under JTL-Shop, JTL-Repricer under JTL-eazyAuction.
New posts and threads: The “What’s new?” tab is now also located in the top navigation. Here you can see all new posts and threads at a glance.
Contact point for the JTL community
The forum offers many new convenience solutions, but its most important function remains the same: Anyone looking for an exchange with experienced JTL users, partners and one or two of our employees is in good hands here. In particular, the many tips, tricks and assistance as well as the odd quick bug fix ensure that the forum continues to be an important point of contact for our customers.
