Some appreciate reliable and fast deliveries, while others benefit from higher sales figures. Amazon Prime is very popular with both customers and retailers. In order to participate in the Prime program, online retailers previously had to store their items on Amazon and have them shipped by Amazon (FBA). This will no longer be necessary.
With Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime, selected sellers will now be able to ship Prime items from their own warehouses independently. Good news: The new Amazon Prime service will be available directly from our ERP system from JTL-Wawi version 1.0.9.0. With JTL-Shipping and the connected Amazon interface, Prime shipping labels can then also be issued directly.
Basic advantages of the Amazon Prime program
Amazon’s Prime logo has long since established itself among consumers as a seal of quality for fast, uncomplicated and free shipping for participating Prime customers. Many Amazon Prime sellers can confirm that Prime items sell significantly better than standard items. Studies from the USA document that registered Prime customers generate over 70% more sales than customers who do without the Prime program.
Prime retailers benefit from better visibility of their items and higher customer satisfaction. Positive customer reviews due to guaranteed fast shipping usually lead to further ranking improvements. In return, however, Amazon also places high demands on retailers in terms of their shipping performance and customer ratings. Only retailers who achieve top scores here can take advantage of the Prime benefits.
The "Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime" extension now allows sellers to ship their own products
Anyone who already qualifies as a Prime seller on Amazon can – as announced by Amazon – activate their use of the Amazon API from Monday, February 1, 2016. This will enable them to ship Prime items from their own warehouse.
For all retailers who have sufficient capacity in their own warehouse and for whom labeling and shipping to the responsible FBA warehouse is rather disadvantageous, Seller Fulfilled Prime now offers an interesting alternative or supplement.
There are also advantages for your own marketing: The lack of important and direct customer contact with the previous Amazon Prime can now be overcome: Customers will now not receive the usual Amazon box with questionable vouchers or flyers from other providers. Instead, the company’s own brand can be brought to the fore and the customer experience can be specifically controlled when unpacking the shipment. Positive incentives can also be set in this context for processing and reducing returns, which can result in significant cost savings.
Implement the integration of Amazon Prime directly with JTL-Wawi
Thanks to JTL-Shipping, direct integration with Amazon Prime services will be possible in the upcoming JTL-Wawi version 1.0.9.0. “It is important to us to be able to use the possibilities that Amazon now offers to sellers directly with our JTL-Wawi. We know that there is great demand among our customers. In addition, we are creating interesting incentives for JTL-Wawi newcomers with the growing functionalities of JTL-Shipping,” says Maik Schwefer, Head of Development for JTL-Wawi at the Hürth site.
The look & feel when setting up Amazon Prime in JTL-Wawi 1.0.9.0
Once you have been activated by Amazon for the new services, the setup in JTL-Wawi is very quick. In the shipping method you will find the new option “Amazon Prime”, which you can activate via a check box.

The adjacent “Configure” button takes you to the corresponding configuration menu for creating Amazon Prime shipping labels.

After you have set your desired details here, you must then select an Amazon sample order to determine an available shipper and insert the AmazonOrderID and sales order SKU number, among other things.

You can now select your preferred express option from the shipping service providers determined with their respective shipping options. The shipping label is sent directly via the Amazon interface and is issued automatically – as you are already used to when using JTL-Shipping.
We wish you lots of success with the new possibilities around Amazon Prime!
