Thanks to the creative idea of our customer Matthias Vogel: He has developed a workflow with which you can control JTL-Wawi so that a lamp lights up clearly visible for new Amazon Prime or Express orders.

Let there be light! A brief introduction to the idea
Amazon orders – whether Prime or Express – are considered prioritized orders that need to be processed quickly, as they have a direct impact on your merchant reputation. But who has the time in their hectic everyday life to check JTL-Wawi so regularly for new sales orders that each of these orders is actually picked up at the next collection? And – as Murphy’s law would have it – they always come in when the collection service is already at the door.
If this scenario sounds familiar to you, you will be delighted by the workflow of our customer Matthias Vogel (CEO AIMPLIFY Distribution Inc.), which now displays your prioritized orders via a red light.
Matthias has already presented his idea in our official Facebook group and received a lot of positive feedback. We would therefore like to present it to you again in detail here. And at the end of this article you will even find the tutorial as a clear download!

JTL: Hello Matthias, your workflow has really inspired our community. Why don’t you tell us how you came up with the idea?
Matthias: Hello everyone! My company Aimplify offers fulfillment services, among other things. Guaranteeing smooth packing and shipping processes is our “daily business”. That’s why I’m quite fixated on eliminating potential sources of error in our fulfillment processes.
With Amazon Prime or express orders, we always had the case of new sales orders coming in just when the express driver was almost on the mat. To prevent them from passing us by, I was looking for a way to signal this in the warehouse in a conspicuous way. A red light seemed to be the perfect solution!
JTL: Are you already using the lamp productively and successfully?
Matthias: Yes, of course. The in-house design works perfectly. The lamp is currently attached to the central warehouse printer and our employees are delighted because the system is so simple: as soon as the lamp lights up red, everyone knows that a prime or express pick list needs to be created.
JTL: Do you have any other ideas for the near future?
Matthias: I have always been a creative problem solver. For example, we came up with the predecessor to JTL-Packing Bench+ STOPPP/WRAPPP (long-time JTL customers will remember), because we liked to make mistakes with T-shirt sizes back then. So it’s not impossible that I’ll have more ideas in the near future. I’m currently experimenting with a Raspberry Pi and Grafana for my lamp. So you can look forward to it!
