With our goal of optimizing existing features in JTL-Wawi 1.2 in particular, our developers have also been working behind the scenes here. The result is Marketplace Management 2.0.
Responding to customer requests
In recent years, JTL and JTL-Wawi have grown along with it. But many of our customers have also undergone a similar development – we have grown up together. However, with the growing proportion of large customers who sell many items via eBay and/or Amazon, we occasionally come up against hurdles in the software – in this case in marketplace management. This is because very large quantities of listings have a strong impact on the speed of creation of listings and management. Many customers therefore wanted a system that would allow them to maintain their listings quickly and agilely when dealing with large volumes of listings.
Optimization under the hood
Marketplace management 2.0 is not a complete overhaul of the solution. Rather, we have given the mechanics under the hood a massive tune-up.
We were able to achieve internal performance optimization by means of more efficient access structures to the database and more economical use of the cache by means of new suitable data objects. Various technical developments, whether in the database or other elements, also allowed us to make the marketplace management more advanced and professional than before in terms of code. This increases both the maintainability of the marketplace administration and its future security.
The result: accesses that previously took minutes in the worst case now take seconds. In the same breath, we were also able to incorporate another small feature. In future, order items can also be displayed in a separate list for Amazon matching orders. Previously, the marketplace administration displayed these orders multiple times.
The system interface has remained largely unaffected by these changes. This means that all changes take place automatically in the background and no settings or adjustments are necessary on the customer side.
Fine-tuning in the eye
Improving the marketplace administration, its performance and maintainability will remain on our agenda even after the release. We plan to continue to adapt this in line with the constantly growing demands of our customers. One of the important points for us is the simultaneous processing of many listings – here we see the possibility of further speed gains.

Our customers are growing just like we are. We are already reflecting this change in part with the adaptations in JTL-Wawi 1.2. Customers and power users of the marketplace administration can therefore look forward to greatly increased speeds in daily use in the new version.
