It’s release time again at JTL: We are lifting JTL-POS out of its open beta, so that our POS software is now available to you as a stable version. Over the last few months, we have been working hard to make JTL-POS even more secure, versatile, easy to use and intuitive for you. We have summarized below how we have proceeded and which features you can look forward to with today’s release:
SafeKassenSichV 2020: Well prepared with JTL-POS
The biggest to-do of our development in recent weeks has been to make JTL-POS fit for the German Cash Register Security Ordinance (KassenSichV). The law stipulates that electronic cash registers must have a certified technical security device (TSE) from 2020. This encrypts and backs up certain transaction data of each business transaction on an internal memory to prevent manipulation.
As an electronic point of sale system, JTL-POS also falls under the aforementioned requirements of the KassenSichV. But don’t worry: our POS system fulfills all legal requirements of the legislator.

For this purpose, we offer various receipt printers in our JTL-Store that can be expanded to meet all BSI requirements. By connecting this printer to JTL-POS, you have already fulfilled an important aspect of the KassenSichV.
We are working on providing you with even more TSE components in the near future!
Easily fulfill the obligation to issue receipts with JTL-POS
JTL-POS is also prepared for the second requirement of the legislator: From January 1, 2020, the new obligation to issue receipts requires that receipts must show the serial number of the recording system or TSE and a transaction number in addition to the previous information. Here too, JTL-POS fulfills the legal obligations 100%.

VersatileWide range of functions for the retail trade
Another focus for us was to further expand the functional scope of JTL POS for the release and to adapt it even better to the needs of stationary retailers. For example, you now have more options for directly accessing your favorite checkout function, calling up variation combinations or configuration items via swipe gestures or customizing your receipts with smaller QR codes, a larger number of characters or logos – even with many printers that do not natively support graphics.

You can find a detailed list of all new features and bug fixes from the last few months in our JTL forum.
We will of course continue to add to this list in the near future and provide you with additional features.
Item types - the great strength of JTL-POS
At JTL-POS, we have attached great importance to ensuring that our checkout not only works for certain industries, but can also be used by as many retailers as possible. Since the open beta, you have been able to choose from a wide range of item types, such as variant or configuration items, which you can “fill with life” for your business. Just in time for the release, we have now also added products with best-before dates, batches and serial numbers. This makes JTL-POS the perfect point of sale system for a variety of other shop types.

Online and offline retail combined
JTL-POS is not just a point of sale system for stationary retail, but the key to successful omnichannel operations: Click & Collect and Click & Reserve – JTL-POS makes all this possible for you!
To successfully connect your online and offline commerce, you need to link JTL-POS with JTL-Wawi. With JTL-POS ERPConnected, you can maintain your item data and categories conveniently and centrally via the ERP – and at the same time benefit from new sales channels offered by our eCommerce solutions: Through integration with JTL-Wawi, for example, you can quickly add your own online store as a “digital shop window”. Or you can offer your products via high-reach online marketplaces.

The advantage for you: You get all the components you need for successful omnichannel from a single source. So don’t worry about whether all the software solutions will work together – because we guarantee it!
Another plus point: Not only is our entire product range completely “Made in Germany”, but our support team in Germany will also ensure that you get help quickly if something doesn’t work. So you don’t lose any time in the hectic everyday life of a retailer.
ExpandableFlexible retrofitting of payment providers
From the release of JTL-POS, you will enjoy even more flexibility in the area of payment. You now have two options for connecting payment providers to our checkout:
JTL-POS has two integrated payment partners with whom we have negotiated very favorable conditions for you. You not only benefit from reduced fees, but also from the technically tested cooperation with SumUp and First Cash Solution.

Are you already working with a payment service provider? That’s no problem either! You can integrate numerous payment providers via the JTL POS OPI module. We have documented how this works in detail in our JTL-Guide.
Matching hardware bundles in the JTL-Store
The expandability of our POS system was a particular concern of ours right from the start of the open beta. With JTL-POS, we wanted to provide you with a system that grows with you, your business and your needs. You can integrate additional hardware such as a cash drawer, receipt printer, scanner or payment terminal quickly and easily.

To make it easier for you to choose the right components, we have been offering suitable hardware in our JTL-Store for some time now. Do you prefer a whole set of powerful elements? Then you might be interested in our special hardware bundles. We have extensively tested the interaction of the individual components and negotiated extremely good prices for you with our partners. Take a look around our JTL-Store and find suitable hardware components for JTL-POS:
Of course, you can also connect other hardware components to JTL-POS. The technical requirements for the devices are Android (version 5.0 or higher) or ChromeOS as the operating system. Printers must also support the ePOS standard and have an RJ11 cash drawer connection if one is to be connected.
Quick Start Guide: Your quick start with JTL-POS
We have also expanded our JTL-Guide for the release of JTL-POS. In our detailed documentation, you will now find even more step-by-step instructions to simplify your daily work with our POS system. We have put a special Quick Start Guide online to make it easier for you to get started. It will help you to make basic settings after downloading and get started with cashing up as quickly as possible.
Test JTL-POS for 14 days free of charge
Who wants to decide on a point of sale system without having tested it extensively first? With JTL-POS this is possible for 14 days – and completely risk-free. Because you only have to register in the JTL-Customer Centre after the test phase has expired if you want to continue using our POS system. After registering, you can decide whether you want to take over your test database or start with completely new data.

Speaking of test databases: We provide you with a free demo database with which you can put all the features of our POS software through their paces. This can be selected directly in the demo version of JTL-POS.
Have you already decided on JTL-POS? Then we no longer want to stand in the way of your download. All that remains for us to say: Have fun with legally compliant checkout!
