JTL-Wawi 1.2 is in progress and we have some new features for you in this version too. Similar to version 1.1 of our ERP, we would like to introduce you to the new functions and changes with the help of our developer diaries. A frequently requested feature, payment reconciliation, makes the start.
More comfort
If you currently want to reconcile financial information between JTL-Wawi and bank data, you have to do this via CSV files. More specifically, you export such a file from your bank account and then compare it with the open sales orders or existing invoices within ERP. To make this process more convenient, our customers expressed a desire for direct integration with financial institutions, in particular their bank or PayPal.

Payment reconciliation as of JTL-Wawi 1.2
In the new version, we are fulfilling exactly this wish. You now have the option of integrating HBCI accounts and PayPal accounts in addition to the usual reconciliation via CSV file. This means that you can receive and send payments directly in JTL-Wawi.
The new function offers numerous advantages – for example with refunds. Thanks to the option to send payments, you can transfer refunds back directly. Especially in conjunction with PayPal, the process is not only child’s play but also almost instantaneous. Incoming payments from buyers can also be allocated more quickly, which ideally results in faster processing and shipping. The reconciliation itself can be controlled by the user as required. You can perform this manually at any time or, alternatively, automate it using the Worker.
Setting up and using the new payment reconciliation is very simple. In fact, it’s not much more difficult than setting up a bank account in a conventional banking program. It was important to us to make this process as simple as possible in order to make the new function as accessible as possible for you.

In a nutshell, this is how it works:
Next steps
Following the official introduction in the latest JTL-Wawi release, we are planning to further expand payment reconciliation. In the future, for example, you should be able to create refunds for payments that you have not transferred to JTL-Wawi via the new reconciliation. We are also working on the possibility to print PayPal payment links on customer invoices – as a link in the PDF or as a bar code in the printout. However, these options are not included in JTL-Wawi 1.2, but will follow at a later date.
Conclusion
The reconciliation of incoming and outgoing payments and their direct control from JTL-Wawi provides merchants with up-to-date information on their finances at all times. The buyer side also benefits, be it through the possibility of direct refunds or faster shipping due to prompt receipt of payment. The simple handling and integration of the function into your daily business not only eliminates system breaks and CSV imports, but also the need to get used to new features.
In the coming weeks you can of course expect more information about JTL-Wawi 1.2.
