Customized prices with JTL-Wawi 1.2 and JTL-Shop 4.05

In addition to updating JTL-Wawi to version 1.2, we are also working hard on JTL-Shop version 4.05. In a crossover project between our development teams, we are using both builds to implement one of the most popular feature requests from our feedback page – customized prices. As in the other developer diaries, we will also give you an insight into what you can expect soon and how you can use it.

Focus on the customer relationship

Price adjustments in various forms have been part of JTL-Wawi and JTL-Shop for some time now. Previously, for example, retailers had the option of setting individual or graduated prices for customer groups and platforms. However, there are other options for even better customer loyalty.

After all, if the retailer and buyer have agreed on a special price for a product, the latter will also want to receive this price in the future. Or the merchant would like to offer one or other customer a better price from the outset, which they can also see in the store at any time. The solution, as noted by JTL customers in our feedback section: merchants would like to be able to assign individual prices to buyers.

How does it work?

In JTL-Wawi 1.2, we give our customers the option of adding customers in the item details and storing a separate price including a graduated price there. The individual price applies across all platforms, so it always applies when the customer buys the item. The new item management of JTL-Wawi 1.2 also shows users all platform-specific prices. This gives merchants a clear list of special features in the pricing of an item at a glance.

No changes are necessary in the store itself. Settings and setups are made entirely via our ERP system. The individual price cannot be modified by customer group or category discounts, but can be adjusted with coupons. If merchants use special promotions to reduce the general price of the item below the applicable individual price, JTL-Shop makes this change in favor of the buyer.

What does the future hold?

The expansion of the new functionality is already planned. For example, in future we would like to give retailers an overview of all items that the respective customer receives at individual prices in the customer details screen. We are also planning to integrate the new price function into the workflows to provide users with handy automation options.

Conclusion

Thanks to the feedback and suggestions of our users, we can support merchants in retaining customers with the new versions of JTL-Wawi and JTL-Shop. At the same time, there is more leeway for pricing as, depending on the situation, the detour via the customer groups is no longer necessary. Because retailers only have to make the settings in the item details, there is no need for any separate integration effort.
