With JTL Vouchers, we are making the colorful world of vouchers available for three JTL products at once: In JTL-Wawi, JTL-Shop and JTL-POS, you can now sell, redeem and manage both digital vouchers and printed voucher cards. As a user of a third-party system, you can also integrate JTL Vouchers via a REST API. In this blog post, we’ll tell you how this works, what functions our new voucher system has in store for you and what advantages it offers for successful omnichannel commerce.
What is JTL Vouchers?
Vouchers have become an integral part of modern retail. Especially combined usage options such as “bought in the online store, redeemed in the store” have become even more important due to Corona. With JTL Vouchers, we give you the opportunity to use vouchers for your omnichannel retail – and not just in combination with JTL products! You can also connect your third-party system to our voucher software via a REST API.
No matter which option you choose: With JTL Vouchers, you can not only create and redeem vouchers, but also manage them in a comprehensive portal. Here you can make basic settings, keep an eye on all vouchers and track sales trends at the same time. But more on this later.
First of all, we would like to introduce you to the basic functions of JTL Vouchers.
What can JTL Vouchers do?
JTL Vouchers is based on cloud technology. This means that the data entered for your vouchers is stored centrally on an external server and can be used for all connected products. This allows you to easily network and manage your vouchers across all sales channels.
To use JTL Vouchers in combination with the JTL solutions, you need at least the following versions:
- JTL-Wawi 1.5.49.1
- JTL-POS 1.0.5.6
- JTL-Shop 5.1
Omnichannel at its best
For example, let your customers buy a voucher in your store and pay with JTL-POS while they choose their desired item online in your JTL-Shop – or vice versa. You can also create vouchers or voucher codes in JTL-Wawi with the help of JTL-Vouchers, which you can then spend on goodwill or returns, for example.
You decide whether you want to offer your customers classic voucher cards or printouts or a digital version where you send a scannable voucher code by email. This can also be printed quickly and easily on JTL-POS receipts. In either case, your customers have the option of redeeming their voucher in installments until the remaining balance has been used up.
Full flexibility - even with discount campaigns
Do you run several branches or online stores? Then JTL Vouchers is also a reliable helper. In our voucher system, you can flexibly define validity periods and areas of validity for individual sales channels: i.e. when and in which stores or stores certain vouchers can be redeemed. Such a selection function is particularly effective in seasonal business or for regional marketing campaigns.
One less thing to worry about: fully protected against tax with JTL vouchers
You don’t have to worry about taxes either: Since JTL Vouchers can be used to create both single-purpose and multi-purpose vouchers, you will always pay the correct VAT. In addition, all vouchers created and put into circulation are fully traceable via the JTL Vouchers portal. An additional gain in control and overview!

More control and overview: The JTL Vouchers Portal
As mentioned, JTL Vouchers not only offers comprehensive functions for creating, selling and redeeming vouchers, but also a clear administration instance: the JTL Vouchers Portal.
You can find all the important information in your dashboard: Which vouchers were created last? At what value? Through which sales channel? And where and when were vouchers redeemed? This and much more data can be called up via special lists. Thanks to practical filter functions, you can quickly find the information you need. This gives you full control over all your vouchers at all times and allows you to keep an eye on individual sales trends, e.g. for a sales channel or campaign.
You can also use the JTL Vouchers portal to define basic settings such as the structure of your voucher codes. You can also define the aforementioned parameters such as validity period and area of validity in the form of client groups.
Integrate third-party systems via REST-API
We have already pursued the concept of an “open system” with our JTL-Fulfillment Network. And we are expanding this further with JTL Vouchers: We want it to be possible to use these solutions without being tied to the rest of JTL’s software.
We have therefore developed a REST API for our voucher system that can be used to integrate any third-party system. In our service partner directory, you will find certified service providers who will develop tailor-made integrations for you. By the way, you can easily import your existing vouchers when switching to JTL Vouchers. All you need to do is upload the relevant data via CSV file and your “old” vouchers can be used in the new system!
Connecting JTL-Wawi, JTL-Shop and JTL-POS
JTL-Vouchers can be connected to JTL-Wawi (from version 1.5.49.1), JTL-Shop (from version 5.1) and JTL-POS (from version 1.0.5.6) with just a few clicks. Pilot customers of JTL-Wawi 1.6 require version 1.6.30.0. If you use JTL-Shop 5, you can download a plugin from the JTL-Extension Store.
