JTL-Community: Here you will find help and exchange
Our community – at JTL it has been an important part of our recipe for success since the company was founded. The exchange with you significantly shapes our development agenda and the direction of our products. But do you already know all the platforms on which we actively contact you and where you can get help if something doesn’t work? In the following article, we would like to introduce you to all the channels that we have created especially for you – our community.
It all starts with ERP - and a forum
Did you know that our forum is almost as old as our ERP system? In the early 2000s, the two JTL founders Janusch and Thomas Lisson developed an ERP system for a friend’s eBay business. In order to make the software available to other entrepreneurs, the two brothers made it available online as freeware. And the opening of a forum is the next step. Even then, Janusch and Thomas are very interested in what feedback users give them on the functions and user-friendliness.
In doing so, they laid the foundation for the dynamic and active JTL community as we know it today. And even today, the JTL forum is still something like the “heart” of all our community platforms.
The JTL forum: Contact point for feedback and help
There are currently more than 44,000 active users in the JTL forum, who have written more than 760,000 posts – and of course this is no longer just about JTL-Wawi, but all JTL products have their own section. This makes it easier for you to search and find suitable threads for your request. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for in the topic categories, the search function at the top right will help you.
You can use the search function at the top right of the JTL forum to search for your topic.
As Community Manager at JTL, I manage all channels for exchanging information with you. So that I can respond quickly to your concerns, it is helpful if you always check first whether your topic has already been clarified in an existing thread or is currently being discussed. This makes it easier for everyone to find information!
Of course, our JTL forum is not just for you as a user of the software. Many of our developers and supporters are also on hand to provide you with help and advice, as are numerous JTL service partners. This means that you can quickly get expert help with technical questions and problems or – if you are planning a larger project – you can directly find the right service provider for your project. Incidentally, both JTL employees and our service partners are verified and identified by us in their function by means of corresponding badges. So you can always be sure that a real expert is answering your questions.
In the JTL forum you can recognize the expert status of a contact person by the badges.
The JTL Facebook group: Good company in the social network of our community
Our official JTL Facebook group works in a similar way to the JTL forum. Here you can also ask questions, find service providers among our active JTL service partners or exchange ideas and network with other users.
The focus here is a little more on networking and open dialog than in the JTL forum. More “colorful” or current topics are often discussed here.
As we publish important information on product updates, version announcements and technical bugs in both the JTL forum and our Facebook company account, we recommend that you join or subscribe to at least one of the two channels.
Of course, we also share all this information via our official newsletter channels. It is therefore worth subscribing to these as well:
Our JTL-Guide is central to the systematic development of knowledge about JTL products. We have documented basic work processes and settings in great detail here in easy-to-understand step-by-step instructions. So if you want to install a new JTL product, activate an extension or set up a plugin, you will find the right “how-to” in the JTL-Guide.
It therefore makes sense to first visit the JTL-Guide and then use the JTL forum or the JTL Facebook group for detailed or special questions. Are you missing a specific instruction? Then you can contact our technical documentation team via the “Report a bug” button, which you can find at the bottom right of the JTL-Guide homepage.
Knowledge building and self-learning are also the concept behind our webinars and training courses. We present important innovations in eCommerce in general as well as interesting facts about JTL products and complementary technologies at regular intervals. Presentations by our partners systematically supplement our know-how transfer to you.
And the community concept is not neglected within these formats either: in the webinars and training courses, you are actively invited to ask questions, discuss with us and thus help shape the content and direction of the events.
Are you already familiar with all our training courses? You can find more information here:
Our YouTube channel combines the idea of the JTL-Guide self-learning platform with the interactive concept of the JTL forum: On our video channel, we offer you technical explanatory videos about our products as well as webinar recordings and preview videos based on your feedback.
Manuel Pietzsch, our Product Owner for JTL-Wawi, has used this medium in recent months to introduce you to the new features of version 1.6 of our ERP, but also to present functions that have been developed thanks to you and your feedback. For the new order details, he asked for your wishes in the JTL forum and then used YouTube videos to show you how our development team implemented them.
As you can see, we pursue the idea of “community-driven development” not only in theory, but also through active exchange with you on our platforms. If you also want to contribute to our development and network and exchange ideas, then become part of our active community and log in to the channels mentioned above today.
